
The Accident Management Association was established in March 2001 as a new trade association to unite the industry. The Association provides services to accident management companies by helping to establish a favourable operating environment, by providing a forum for discussion on non-competitive issues, and by providing information to assist them in their business.
The benefits of membership include:Promotion of the accident management industry.
1. A central representative body putting forward the views of accident management companies to the Association of British Insurers, Government departments and other relevant organisations.
2. Working closely with the insurance market to introduce appropriate mutually beneficial changes, to discuss opportunities for working closer together and to improve jointly the service provided to accident victims. 3. Operating a technical centre providing commentary, guidance and advice on legal and other regulatory developments of relevance to accident management companies.
4. A Technical Committee to assist members with questions on the ABI credit Hire/Repair Protocol, and on claims and legal issues connected with their accident management business.
5. A forum for the exchange of non-competitive information and to collate accident management and other relevant market information.
6.Social exchanges and opportunities for corporate hospitality.
Current membership
AMA has 35 full members and 12 associate members. Members range from the largest operator in the market to companies with a turnover of well under £1million a year.
Members are estimated to account for about 70% by volume of the credit hire/credit repair market in the UK. A list of members appears on the website.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions for 2008 for full members are £600 per £1 million of gross turnover with a minimum of £500 plus vat. Associate members pay £1,000 plus vat.
